New Hampton girls put up another blistering 18-hole score in Invite win

New Hampton girls golf coach Eric Olson wasn't bragging, just stating the facts when he said that neither of the Chickasaws' Friday opponents — Tripoli and Don Bosco — were in the same league as his team.  "Our JV girls beat both of those teams, and three of our six girls had never played a meet before," he explained.  The next day was a different story as the Chickasaw golf teams hosted a coed invitational. The NH girls also won that four-team tourney.  "We had a showcase tournament. When the rankings came out by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association, we're ranked third in 3A, North Fayette Valley is eighth, Clear Lake is No. 12 and South Winn is sixth in 2A. There's some pretty highly-thought of teams there, and to win by 36 strokes — that's a pretty good win."  New Hampton finished with a 357, South Winn was second at 393.  For the full story, please see the April 25 Tribune.
