N-P graduate finds new career after retirement

Retire and then start a new career. That is what Nashua native Ken Bloom has done when he began to write and is a full-fledged author now.Bloom graduated from Nashua High School in 1964, he went on to get his BA in mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa and his MS in mathematics from Michigan State. After college, Bloom worked in Cedar Rapids for 28 years at Rockwell Collins.After retirement, Bloom decided to try his hand at writing fiction. Always an avid reader, Bloom grew tired of how all the books ended the same. He thought he could come up with better characters, plots and endings.Bloom soon found that writing wasn’t that easy. “It was a struggle.” His daughter had given him a book that helped guide him. He has gone on to write 11 books in the past 12 years. Five of those books he has written in just the last year and a half. “The tipping point came in 2013.
