Make it 10 straight for Chickasaw boys

If there was one moment that stood out for New Hampton baseball coach Cory McDonald Friday, it was the way his Chickasaws responded when one of their teammates, Michael Denner, got his first-ever varsity hit.“The genuine excitement of everyone in the dugout when Michael's hit made it through the infield,” McDonald said after his team’s 23-0 win over Turkey Valley, “shows how important every person is on this team and how this team genuinely supports each other and their particular role.”Denner was the second Chickasaw — Kyle Burke was the first Wednesday night in a win over Waukon — to get his first career varsity hit, and he did so in a game where almost everything went right for New Hampton.
