Louise M. Stansbery, age 91 of New Hampton, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at Linn Haven Rehab and Health Care in New Hampton.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2019, at Harvest Church in New Hampton, with Pastor Douglas Harvey officiating.  Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Online condolences for Louise’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Louise M. Chesling was born on Oct. 16, 1928 in North Mankato, Minnesota to Daniel and Bertha (Beyer) Chesling.  She was the oldest of three children.  She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1947.  Louise was an active member of First Baptist Church/Harvest Church since 1945.  Louise married Ervin Stansbery on Oct. 1, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church In New Hampton.  To this marriage three children were born; Duane, Karen and Roger.  She was involved in the church’s two women’s circle groups at First Baptist Church.  She worked for the New Hampton Care Center twice, worked for Harry and Betty Lynch, numerous other places and finally finishing at Fairview Nursing Home in New Hampton before retiring as either a nurse’s aide or a homemaker health aide.  She taught Sunday school for the little children or took care of the nursery while at First Baptist Church.  She was co-custodian at First Baptist Church with her husband until 1994.  Louise loved doing crossword puzzles, coloring and reading her bible.  She loved seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Kids loved her as a Sunday school teacher.  She loved to see her two boys achieve the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts.
Louise is survived by her three children, Duane (Scarlet) Stansbery of Mason City, Karen (Frank) Petering of Hallsville, Missouri and Roger Stansbery of New Hampton; three grandchildren, Terry Petering, Debbie Petering and Nicole Grell; two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Marah Meleney; one sister, Judy Lewison of Marshalltown; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Stansbery of Waterloo, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Bertha Chesling; husband Ervin (in 2004); sister Norma Schwerdtfeger; sisters-in-law Edna Maklenburg, Rose Nystel, Sylvia Nystel, Orella Schwickerath and Evelyn Stansbery.
