It’s all sunny for state-bound Chickasaws!
Normally, rain and golf coexisting does not have a positive outcome. However, the boys golf team for New Hampton is far from normal, and they proved it on Friday.
With precipitation falling from the sky most of the day, the Chickasaws managed to post one of their best outings of the season at the district meet at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike-New Hartford. Bill Glenn’s team won the meet handily with a score of 318, as New Hampton claimed a bid to the state golf tournament.
“Heck, our guys played better in the rain,” senior Chickasaw golfer Ryan Anderson said with a laugh. “It was awesome. To see guys like Alex (Kriener) step up today, and the whole team played well, it was good.”
