Iola “June” Rausch, 95
Iola “June” Rausch, age 95 of Newton and formally of Charles City, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Newton Village in Newton, Iowa.
A funeral Mass for June Rausch will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. A private family burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City. The funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home Facebook page at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 until the start of the service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
Iola June Rausch, the daughter of William and Una (Meyers) Spurbeck, was born on June 17, 1925 in New Hampton. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Leander “Mick” Michael Rausch on April 2, 1945 at St. Boniface Church in Ionia.
June worked at Charles City Manufacturing, Charles City Locker in the meat processing department, and Shippers Service as a bookkeeper. She was a dedicated member of Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to St. Catherine Circle. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge and a bowling league. June was a 4-H leader for a girls group and loved spending time outdoors. She enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and was an excellent seamstress.
Living family members include her children: Thomas Rausch of Newton and Sister Jennifer Rausch, PBVM of Dubuque; grandsons: Bryan (Angie), Todd (Renee), Scott (Meredith), and Tyler (Crystal); great grandchildren: Ryanne, Liliana, Audrey, Landry, Tristan, Katie, Devin, Sutton, Sloane, Karter, Olivia, and Beckham; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Anthony Michael; daughter-in-law, Pam Hawbaker Rausch; and three sisters: Avis Diesburg, Opal Rademacher, and Jean Dvorak.
