Huskies enter ‘break’ with solid win at N-K
As Hannah Holthaus prepared for Tuesday night’s game against New Hampton, the Nashua-Plainfield coach was asked about the extended run of “off days.”
“I’ll tell you it feels really weird,” she said of going six days between games, “but I think everyone needed it and we were able to get in some good practices.”
Nashua-Plainfield’s schedule already had a built-in break after it played three games early last week, but Monday’s game at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura was rained out, making it even longer.
“We probably need it because we kind of go crazy from here,” Holthaus said of her team’s nine-game, eight-day stretch that started on Tuesday. “Just having some time to go over some things was nice, because when you’re playing every day, you just don’t get that time.”
The Huskies did finish last week on a strong note as they rebounded from a 10-0 loss at Algona Garrigan on Monday and an 8-2 home loss to Mason City Newman with a 7-5 victory over Northwood-Kensett.
