Huskies drop pair of TIC East games

For Nashua-Plainfield’s girls basketball team to turn the proverbial corner, the Huskies have to overcome one issue — the number of turnovers they commit.
Those miscues cost Nashua-Plainfield dearly in its most recent two games a it fell to Mason City Newman 55-17 last Tuesday and to St. Ansgar 51-29 on Monday.
“It’s something we work on a lot,” Nashua-Plainfield coach Josh Smith said after his team fell to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in Top of Iowa East Division play. “We think we have a pretty good inside game with Breanna [Hackman] and Libby [Fisher], but we have to find a way to get them the ball.”
Through its first four games, the Huskies were averaging more than 31 turnovers a game, and on Monday, St. Ansgar came up with 26 steals.
