A gritty farewell

With five minutes to play in the second quarter, Lake Mills’ Chett Helming had outscored Turkey Valley by himself 21-17.
The hot start by Helming helped Lake Mills jump out to a 32-17 advantage, and the Trojans were never able to recover, falling in the substate game held at Charles City on Saturday night 77-62.
This heart-crushing defeat brings an end to TV’s season and a conclusion to the outstanding careers of a talented senior class that posted a record of 71-23 and heralded three Upper Iowa Conference championships throughout their four years of high school.
