Election day nears for both cities, schools

New Hampton voters have a decision to make next week when they head to the polls to select a new mayor.
Do they want to stay the course or do they want a change?
The race between incumbent Mayor Deb Larsen and challenger Bobby Schwickerath is one of several contested races in the area during the every-other-year municipal and school elections. There are also contested races for North Washington and Fredericksburg city council seats, as well as a “late one” for New Hampton’s Ward 3 council seat.
But the race garnering the most attention is that mayoral race in New Hampton.
