Chickasaws survive awful elements, post NEIC triangular win
Yes, New Hampton’s boys like to golf. They’re happy when the find out a meet is 18 holes instead of nine. But Friday? “No, they didn’t want to be out in the rain and the cold,” said coach Bill Glenn. “They were just happy to get done so they could come in for some hot chocolate.” Before they did come in, though, they won a conference meet over Waukon, 156-216. Decorah wanted in on the meet, since the conference tournament is at New Hampton, so even though New Hampton played the Vikings at their place and won an 18-hole match-up, Decorah came over and was beaten again by the Chickasaws. The Vikings came in 10 strokes over New Hampton with a 166. The rest of the story may be found in the May 2 Tribune.
