Chickasaw shooters put together a solid week
From time to time — when New Hampton’s trapshooters really get clicking — they will have five squads finish with a score of 200 or better. When Osage came to New Hampton Thursday the Chickasaws upped that number to six. It’s never happened before, according to coach Chuck Stanton. “Not even close,” he said. “Right now our shooting is just fantastic, everything is going our direction.”That includes the weather, sort of. Rain was in the area Thursday, and though the meet finished in the pouring rain, it finished without any delays.New Hampton also competed in a 100-shoot meet Saturday at Osage. Between Thursday and Saturday, the Chickasaws picked up two more perfect 50s as Mitch Pickar had his second of the season and Jordan Holthaus — who had been flirting with a 50 the last two meets — turned in his first. The score by NH Red Thursday, a 242, was the best of the season to date.
All of the New Hampton scores may be found in the May 8 Tribune.
