Chickasaw girls claim two wins
It was just an off-handed comment, but Kaelyn Ambrose hit the nail on the head Thursday when talking to teammates."I told them I was feeling pretty strong and I said 'I think I'll hit a dinger tonight,'" said the New Hampton junior. You could have knocked her over with a feather that night when she hit her first home run, not only of her varsity career, but her high school career. And a grand slam at that."I've come really close but the ball has never gone over, it's skimmed the fence in the past," said Ambrose of the hit that helped the Chickasaws to a four-inning, 15-1 win over Waukon. The girls followed the Thursday win with another on Friday, 7-0 over MFL, to bring their record to 9-7 on the year.Ambrose wasn't the only Chickasaw with one over the fence against the Indians, as Kallie Olson knocked over her third home run of the season. Ambrose was 2-for-3 with five RBIs and Olson was 3-for-3, she also doubled and drove in four runs.
