Almost perfect weather, chuckwagon finale bring huge crowds to Big Four fair

When Nancy Hillesheim woke up on the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 3, she did what she always does on a weekday.
She got ready to go to work.
But if she was wearing a big smile, she had every reason to, for the Big Four Fair Secretary was coming off a four-day high.
Asked that day to sum up the annual Labor Day event and she came up with a one-word response.
“Overwhelming.”
She wasn’t the only one who had that same giddy feeling.
