Area sports are postponed

With the likelihood of rain this afternoon, several events have been called off at the New Hampton, Nashua-Plainfield and Turkey Valley schools. At New Hampton, this afternoon's Northeast Iowa Conference coed track meet has been rescheduled for Monday, remaining at Charles City with a 5 p.m. start time, according to the school calendar, which also says the girls golf meet at home against Oelwein has been cancelled and the boys golf meet at Oelwein postponed.
Turkey Valley's conference coed track meet has also been postponed to Monday at South Winn, with a starting time of 4 p.m. and Nashua-Plainfield's conference meet has been postponed, with no make-up date given yet.
At this time, New Hampton's home trapshooting meet and Turkey Valley's home golf meet are still on the calendar, as is a road trip for the N-P golfers.
